The Glitch paintings were originally inspired by a violent electrical storm which distorted the pictures on a television set. Through purely analogue means, Graff was interested in emulating the spontaneous fracturing of images, as well as pixelation and distortion of colours which occurs through digital glitching. Some of the paintings are based on stills from Hitchcock movies, while others are reinterpretations of old masters.
